Kettle & Crown Codex

Baron Corvane

The Iron Baron: A northern warlord unmade by peace, not steel.

Rising in the vacuum left by the Deathless, the Iron Baron is a northern successor who has become the series' looming antagonist. He obsessively collects war relics and soldiers to construct a fortress-temple at Karsmoor, driven by an open hunt for rumors of the Deathless's survival to claim legitimacy or the crown itself. His reign of terror culminates in Book 12 when he arrives in the flesh, only to face an end far stranger than death.

Lore & Background

In Book 12, the Baron's physical arrival marks a turning point where he is not slain by traditional combat. Instead, his tyranny is dismantled through a paradoxical act of hospitality: he is seated and fed, effectively denying him the war he craved to sustain his identity as a conqueror.
